Douglas Roger Dowell

Mr. Douglas Roger Dowell, 68, of Cana, Virginia passed away Saturday, April 15, 2023, at his home.  He was born in Carroll County on January 17, 1955, to the late Coleman ”Roger” and Hassie “Pauline” Tilley Dowell.  Mr. Dowell was in the construction business.  He is survived by two sisters, Diane Bailey, and Darlene Cockerham; a brother, Cleave “DeWayne” Dowell; a brother-in-law, Donnie Webb; a special nephew Kevin Poff; twelve other nieces and nephews; eleven great nieces and nephews; one great great niece.  In addition to his parents, Mr. Dowell was preceded in death by sisters and brothers-in-law, Denise Webb, Delorise and Roger Edwards, Eddie Bailey, Bruce Cockerham; a brother, Donnie Dowell; a nephew Joseph “Joe” Dowell.  A funeral service will be held Sunday, April 23, 2023, at 2:00 PM at Moody Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Oscar Hill Officiating.  Burial will follow in the Dowell’s Grove Cemetery.  The family will receive friends Sunday from 1:00 until 2:00 PM at Moody Funeral Services in Mt.
