Douglas Everett Easter

Mr. Douglas Everett Easter, 71 of Mount Airy, passed away on Saturday afternoon, October 3, 2026, at Surry Health Center in Mount Airy. He was born in Carroll County, June 8, 1955, to the late Willie Samuel Easter and Nellie Irene Puckett Easter. Doug was a truck driver for many years and later in life he was a “master” knitting machine fixer for Sara Lee. He traveled all over the US and Canada. Pippy loved his grandchildren, playing guitar, pool, and traveling the USA. Left to cherish his memory are his daughter, Amy Marie Easter Edwards; son, Anthony Easter; two grandchildren, Hope Edwards fiancé Charlie Easter, and Dakota Edwards; two special friends, Michael Edwards and Lance Spivey; and many more family and friends. In addition to his parents, Mr. Easter was preceded in death by his wife of 37 years, Barbara “Bobbie” Allison Honeycutt; sister, Margaret Easter; and brother, Franklin Edwards. There are no formal services planned at this time. The Easter family would like to give a special thanks to the staff of Surry Community Health for all the love and care given to him during his stay.
