Mr. Douglas Ray Hiatt, age 75 of Mount Airy entered into eternal rest on Sunday, May 3, 2026, at Northern Regional Hospital in Mount Airy surrounded by his loving family. Mr. Hiatt was born on April 15, 1951, in Surry County to the late Sandy Marion and Lorrene Marion Hiatt. Doug was a loving brother, uncle, and friend. He was a faithful member of Indian Grove Baptist Church. He will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved him. Surviving is his brother and sister-in-law, Bobby Hiatt and Patsy; niece, Rana Southern and John Grimm; two nephews, Donald Southern, Philip Hiatt; and his cat “Annoying” . In addition to his parents, Mr. Hiatt was preceded in death by his sister, Glenda Gail Hiatt Southern and her husband Alex Southern. A funeral service will be held on Thursday, May 7, 2026, at 2:00 PM at Indian Grove Baptist Church with Reverend Frank Harmon officiating. Interment will follow in the Indian Grove Family Cemetery. The family will receive friends on Thursday, May 7, 2026, at Indian Grove Baptist Church from 1:00 PM until the time of the service. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Indian Grove Family Cemetery, 488 Indian Grove Church Road, Mount Airy, North Carolina 27030.
