Mr. Douglas Westmoreland, age 68 of 114 Country Mist Lane Mt. Airy, husband of Marie C. Westmoreland went to be with his Lord and Savior Monday, November 26, 2007 at his home. Mr. Westmoreland was born in Surry County, July 17, 1939 to the late Robert Woodrow and Alice Catherine Macey Westmoreland. He was a veteran of the Mt. Airy National Guard, the owner and operator of Westmoreland Plumbing and an Evangelist of the Gospel and a member of The Community Church. Surviving is his loving wife, Marie C. Westmoreland of the home; a son and daughter-in-law Robin Eric Westmoreland and wife Shannon of Mt. Airy, a stepson and wife Junior and Tina Collins of Mt. Airy, two step grandsons Scottie Collins and Charlie Collins and wife Tabatha all of Mt. Airy, a step great granddaughter Breanna Collins, a sister and brother-in-law Juanita and Richard Rogers of Mt. Airy, five brothers and sisters-in-law Sonny and Brenda Westmoreland, Philip and Margaret Westmoreland, Gary and Linda Westmoreland and Dennis Westmoreland all of Mt. Airy and Homer Dale and Helen Westmoreland of Honolulu, Hawaii. Funeral services will be held Thursday November 29, 2007 at 2:00 P.M. at The Community Church with services conducted Rev. Ray Hutson with burial to follow in the Skyline Memory Gardens. The family will receive friends Wednesday night 6 to 9 P.M. at Moody Funeral Home in Mt. Airy where his body will remain until time to be taken to the church to lie in state 30 minutes before the service.
