Mr. Doyle Jordan, age 72 of Stuart, Virginia passed away peacefully at his home surrounded by his family on Monday, May 8, 2023. He was born in Harlan, Kentucky on February 7, 1951 to the late Bert Jordan, Sr. and Anna Marie Allen Jordan. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by one sister, Joyce Smith and his father-in-law, John Pendleton. Doyle proudly served his country in the U.S. Army during the Vietnam War. He owned and operated Stop 8 Convenience Store for many years. Anyone that knew Doyle (or just met him), knew he was a huge Kentucky Wildcats fan, avid supporter of Patrick County Athletics, loved helping people, being outdoors at his little cabin, and the joy of his life was his family. He treasured spending time with grandchildren.
Left to cherish the memory of Doyle Jordan are his devoted wife of 40 years, Sarah Pendleton Jordan of the home, three children, Aaron Moore and husband, James of Stuart, Travis Jordan and wife, Stacie of Firestone, Colorado, and Darren Jordan of Stuart; five grandchildren Cole, Delia, Caitlyn, Taylor, and Gabriel; two step-grandchildren, T.J. Moore and Sara Moore; brothers, Bert Jordan, Jr. of Yukon, Oklahoma, Ronnie Jordan and wife, Rosa Lee of Maynardville, Tennessee; mother-in-law, Ann Pendleton of Stuart; brother-in-law, Jon Pendleton and wife, Angie of Sandy Ridge, North Carolina; sister-in-law, Lynn Wilson and husband, Jonathon of Stuart; special niece, Sydney Wilson; and several nieces and nephews.
A celebration of life service will be held on Friday, June 2, 2023, at 7:00 p.m. at Minnie’s Chapel Wesleyan Church with Pastor Gary Combs officiating. Military rites will be provided by the Patrick County Veterans Memorial Honor Guard. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the church on Friday evening. The family encourages attendees to “come as you are,” as Doyle didn’t like dressing up. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Patrick County Football, 215 Cougar Lane, Stuart, VA 24171, please include ‘in memory of Doyle Jordan’ in the memo line.
