Eddie Dean Akers

Mr. Eddie Dean Akers, 64, of Mount Airy, passed away Wednesday, August 29, 2018.  Mr. Akers was born August 12, 1954, in Surry County, to Eileen Higgs Akers and the late Robert Akers.  He was formerly employed at Proctor-Silex Inc.  He was married to Pamela June Jenkins Akers, who also died August 29, 2018.  He is survived by two brothers, Donald Ray Akers and his wife, Rose, of Mocksville and Richard Higgs and his wife Gay, of Dobson; and a sister, Shirley Crabb of Mount Airy.  A memorial service will be held Friday, September 7, 2018, at 11:00 AM at Freedom Gospel Church, 474 Old Rockford Road, Dobson, with the Reverend Randy Parrish officiating.  No formal visitation will be held.  Moody-Davis Funeral Home in Dobson is serving the family.
