Edith White Holyfield

Mrs. Edith White Holyfield, 82, of Elkin, passed away at Hugh Chatham Hospital in Elkin on Thursday evening, April 15, 2010. She was born November 10, 1927, in Surry County, to the late William and Sally Scott White. She was a homemaker and a member of Salem Fork Baptist Church. Surviving are her husband, Ted J. Holyfield of the home; a daughter and son-in-law, Joan and Max Dellinger of Elkin; a son and daughter-in-law, Jack and Kedron Holyfield of Elkin; four grandchildren, Maranda and Justin Atkins, Jake Dellinger, Joshua Holyfield, and James Johnson; a sister, Loree Johnson of Dobson; and two sisters-in-law, Catherine White of Elkin and Christine White of Dobson. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a grandson, Ben Dellinger; three sisters, Alma Roberson, Maxie Collins, and Maurice Gillespie; and four brothers, Clinton White, Buck White, Winford White, Ralph White. The funeral service will be held 3:00 PM Sunday, April 18, 2010, at Salem Fork Baptist Church. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. The Rev. Tom Parker and the Rev. Van Brindle will officiate the service. The family will receive friends at Salem Fork Baptist Church on Sunday from 1:00 PM until the time of the service at 3:00 PM. The family has requested that, in lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Salem Fork Baptist Church Building Fund, P.O. Box 491, Dobson, NC 27017. The family would like to give a special thanks to the Hugh Chatham Memorial Hospital doctors, nurses, and staff and also to the Yadkin Valley Home Health Care for the love and care given to their wife and mother.

Funeral services will be held 3:00 P.M. Sunday April 18, 2010 at Salem Fork Baptist Church with burial to follow in the Church Cemetery. Rev. Tom Parker and Rev. Van Brindle will officiate the service. The Family will receive friends at Salem Fork Baptist Church on Sunday from 1:00 P.M. until time of the service at 3:00 P.M. the family has requested that in lieu of flowers memorials may be made to the Salem Fork Baptist Church Building Fund PO Box 491, Dobson, NC 27017.
