Effie King Towe

Mrs. Effie King Towe, age 81 of Cana, VA passed away at her home on Wednesday June 12, 2024. She was a loving mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother who will surely be missed by all who knew her. Left to cherish her memory are her son and daughter-in-law, Timothy Towe (Trudy); grandchildren, Kristen, Tyler, and Cheyenne Towe, Tisha Jarrell, and Brittany Freeman; great grandchildren, Camden Barnes, Brylee Jarrell, and Dexter Jarrell; two sisters and brother-in-law, a twin sister, Ethel Combs, Ida Jones (Perry),; brother and sisters-in-law, Kermit King (Joyce), Posey King, In addition to her parents, Mrs. Towe was preceded in death by her husband of 54 years, Charles Lynwood Towe; two sisters, Lannie Easter and Audrey Rippey; two brothers, Rawley King and Arnold King. Funeral services will be held on Monday, June 17, 2024 at 2:00 PM at Paul’s Creek Baptist Church with Rev. Gary Easter officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends on Monday from 12:30 until the time for the service at the church. Moody Funeral Services in Mount Airy is serving the family. In lieu of flowers donations may be made online in honor of Mrs. Towe to St. Jude’s Children’s Hospital.
