Elizabeth Mae Jennings Forrest

After a hard-fought battle, our precious Gigi went to live with Jesus on February 23, 2023.  Mae Jennings Forrest, 90, was born in Carroll County, Virginia in 1932.  She is survived by her only daughter, Alice Anderson, a true angel on Earth and a ray of love and light to everyone blessed to know her; a son, Burley Johnson, Jr., a man that has taught his wife, Glenda, and their daughters and grandsons what it truly means to be loved; her brothers, sisters, and their spouses, Darlene Jennings, Jimmie Jennings, Larry Jennings, Charles Jennings, and Ronnie Jennings; her granddaughters, Dawn Shelton, Ginny Horton (Josh); her grandsons, Robert Anderson (Donna), Richard Anderson (April), and their mother Linda Brinkley; her great-grandsons, Shelton and Joshua; her great-granddaughters Charlotte, Kathryn, and Ashley; and her nephew, Donald Jennings and family.  She was preceded in death by her parents, James Jennings, Sr, and Ethel Pack; her brothers, James Jennings, Jr. and Alvin Jennings; her husbands, Clyde Anderson, Burley Johnson, Sr., and Richard Forrest; her sister, Tissie Jennings; her two sons, Bobby Anderson and Ernest “Karo” Anderson; a nephew, Mike Jennings; and, a niece, Brenda McMillian.  A celebration of life will be held at 4:00 on Sunday, February 26, 2023 in the Moody’s Funeral Home Chapel in Mount Airy with Dr. Jonathan Casstevens presiding.  The family will receive friends on Sunday from 3:00 PM until time for the service at the funeral home.  A private burial service will be held at Old Hollow Primitive Baptist Church.  In lieu of flowers, the family requests any memorials be made to the Joan & Howard Woltz Hospice Home, 945 Zephyr Road, Dobson, N.C 27017.
