Elizabeth Ann Price

On July 21, 2023, Elizabeth Ann Price (Sheipe), affectionately known as Betsy,  passed away peacefully at her home with her daughters by her side. Born in Pottsville, PA to the late Andrew and Mary Jane Sheipe, she was named after her great-great-grandmother Elizabeth Cady Stanton. Raised in Willingboro, NJ, Betsy made lifelong friendships where friends felt like family and doors were always open to each other. She then married and raised her two daughters in Hainesport and then Mt. Laurel, NJ. Joni and Jess were her everything as she always found ways to make holidays extra special, made hot chocolate on cold days before going to the bus stop, chauffeured them and their friends to all of their sports and events, and would greet them with a loving hug when they got home off of the bus with snacks already put together. Betsy also pursued her creative interests in drawing, painting, and especially nature photography while inspiring others. She even volunteered with Art Goes to School bringing art history to elementary school classrooms. Betsy loved being one with nature and often found solace in the quiet moments surrounded by the woods or a babbling brook while on family walks. She enjoyed attending each game that her daughters, nieces, and nephews played in, and she was quite often the loudest mom on the sidelines letting us know we were supported and loved. Betsy eventually moved to Ararat, VA, falling in love with the town while passing through on a family vacation. In her time there, she also made cherished friendships that turned into family and enjoyed the living of a small mountain town. She traveled to Alaska with her daughter to see her brother and it was an experience she would hold dear. Her greatest joys arrived with the birth of her grandchildren, Ava and Aidan. Even after learning about her cancer diagnosis, Betsy pushed through and tried to find the magic in each day. She enjoyed one last visit with her grandchildren, with one last ride through Kibler Valley. Even down to the last day she showed immense strength, there was dancing and her infectious laughter, until she couldn’t fight any longer. Betsy now joins her parents, her older brother JImmy, and her sister Nancy. She leaves behind her loving daughters and son-in-law, Joanellen (Joni) and Tom Fenimore, and Jessica Price; her favorite grandchildren Ava and Aidan Fenimore. Her brothers and sisters-in-law, Thomas and Penny Sheipe, John Sheipe and Beth Carroll; sisters and brothers-in-law, Ellen and Rick Waldman, Joanie Sheipe and Allan Godwin; as well as many loving nieces and nephews and the father of her children Thomas Price. There will be two celebration of life services, one at The Moose Lodge of Mount Holly, NJ on August 20, 2023, from 2 to 5 PM and one at her home in Ararat, Virginia on August 27, 2023 at 2 PM. As per Betsy’s wishes, she asked everyone to wear tie dye or bright colors as to bring life to the party. As well as hold your mothers tight and in a special light.
