Ella "Marie" Light Lane

Mrs. Ella Marie Light Lane, age 72 of Mount Airy passed away on Wednesday, June 26, 2024, at Surry Health and Rehabilitation Center. Mrs. Lane was born August 21, 1951, in Patrick County, Virginia to the late Camden and Helen Smart Light. Marie was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, and friend. She will be deeply missed by all who knew her. Surviving are her son and daughter-in-law, Marty and Mendy Taylor, granddaughter, Malerie Rust and her husband Sam; great-grandson, Nixon Rust; and a sister, Rita Light Collins. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a sister Laverne Light Lawson. No formal services are scheduled at this time. There will be a memorial scheduled at a later date at Grace Baptist Church in Mount Airy. Moody Funeral Services in Mount Airy has been entrusted with the arrangements.
