Ella Jean Dillon O'Dell

Mrs. Ella Jean Dillon O'Dell Age 78 of Cana, VA. passed away Friday September 12, 2014 at the home of her daughter. Mrs. O'Dell was born March 2, 1936 in Eccles, W.Va to the late Doff and Lillie Lucas Dillon, she was a homemaker, mother and grandmother and was a member of Marion Baptist Church in Marion VA. Surviving are one daughter Missy O'Dell Shumate of King, one son Rick O'Dell of Wytheville, VA., a daughter-in-law Brenda O'Dell of Bristol, VA., four grandchildren Kelly O'Dell Boyd and husband Lee of Charlotte, Jacob Shumate, Luke Shumate and Noah Shumate all of King, three great grandchildren Collin, Kylie and Zachary Boyd, two brothers and sisters-in-law Dale and Dot Dillon of Mt. Hope, W.Va. and Jerry and Debbie Dillon of Beckley, W.Va. In addition to her parents Mrs. O'Dell was preceded in death by her husband Benjamin Herdman O'Dell and by a son Keith O'Dell. Funeral services will be held Monday September 15, 2014 at 2:00 P.M. at the Moody Funeral Home Chapel in Mt. Airy with services conducted by Rev. Bill Slater will burial to follow in Skyline Memory Gardens. The family will receive friends Monday from 12:30 PM until time for the service at Moody Funeral Home in Mt. Airy, NC.
