Ellis Brent Crissman

Mr. Ellis Brent Crissman, 75, of Siloam, passed away Tuesday afternoon, July 4, 2023, at Forsyth Medical Center in Winston-Salem.  Mr. Crissman was born June 21, 1948, in Surry County, the son of the late Ellis and Mae Bledsoe Crissman.  He is survived by his wife of 48 years, Patricia Love Crissman.  Also left to cherish his memory are his children, Beth and Daniel McCraw and Susan and Adam Duncan; along with his precious grandchildren, Ally McCraw, Kate McCraw, Casen McCraw, and Lily Duncan.  He is also survived by his sister and brother-in-law, Joy and Bob Hemmings; a sister-in-law, Charlene Swaim; his aunt, Geneva Mabe; and his nieces and nephews, Amy and Robert Myers, Chad Swaim, and Dan and Abby Hemmings.  In addition to his parents, Mr. Crissman was preceded in death by a brother, Joseph Larry Crissman; and a brother-in-law, Bobby Swaim.  Brent retired from HanesBrands Inc. and Wayne Farms Poultry.  He was a faithful member of Siloam Baptist Church, where he served as a deacon and a member of the choir for 47 years.  Brent proudly served in the United States Army.  He loved gardening, golf, fishing trips with his buddies, and riding his grandchildren around the farm.  The funeral service will be held Friday, July 7, 2023, at 2:00 PM at Siloam Baptist Church, with the Rev. Jarred Seal and the Rev. Bill Faw officiating.  Burial will follow in the church cemetery.  The family will receive friends Friday from 12:30 until 2:00 PM at the church.  In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Siloam Baptist Church, P.O. Box 25, Siloam, NC  27047.  Moody Funeral Services in Mount Airy is serving the family.
