Ellis Charles Goins

Mr. Ellis Charles Goins, 83, of Mt. Airy passed away Sunday, June 21, 2015 at his Home. He was born in Surry County on July 5, 1931 to the late J.E. Vaughn and Lena Goins. Mr. Goins was retired from Surry Well Drilling Company after 40 years of service, and was of the Baptist faith. He is survived by his wife, Othel Virginia Nunn Goins of the home; daughters and son-in-law, Debbie and Glenn Davis of Ararat, NC, Denise Slate of Mt. Airy; sons and daughter-in-law, Charles Goins, Dale and Darlene Goins, Terry Goins and friend Sissy Chandler, Darin Goins, and Brian Goins all of Mt. Airy; eight grandchildren; six great grandchildren, and one on the way; sisters-in-law, Annie Goad, and Doris Williams; a special nephew, Danny Pack, and many other nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents, Mr. Goins was preceded in death by a sister, Virgie Pack; a brother, Robert Goins. The family will have a private graveside service.
