Elsie Daphine Stanley

Dobson – Elsie Stanley, 80, died February 23, 2019, at Dunmore Plantation in Dobson.  She was born November 14, 1938, to the late Irvin Stanley and Ina Key Stanley of Dobson.  She was previously employed by Quality Mills as an inspector, and by the Surry County School System as a bus driver and lunchroom worker at Copeland Elementary School.
Elsie is survived by two sons, Jeff Norman and Jody Norman and wife, Pam, all of Dobson, eight grandchildren, three great-grandchildren, three step-grandchildren, and four step- great-grandchildren, plus one on the way.
Elsie is also survived by one brother, Ted Stanley and wife Lois; two sisters, Imogene Wilmoth and husband, Michael, and Sandra White and husband, Herbert, all of Dobson, and several nieces and nephews.  She was preceded in death by one sister and brother-in-law, Rachel and Bobby Riddle of Dobson, and one brother, Mickey Stanley.
A memorial service will be held at 2 pm, Wednesday, February 27, at Double Creek Church of Christ with Pastor Michael Bigelow officiating.  Memorial contributions may be made to the Cemetery Fund, Double Creek Church of Christ, in care of Joyce Hardy, 646 Double Creek Road, Dobson, NC 27017.  Moody-Davis Funeral Service of Dobson is in charge of arrangements.  There will be no formal visitation.
