The family of Elva Fain Caldwell is deeply saddened to announce her passing on May the 16th 2026. Elva was born on May the 1st 1962 in Winston Salem North Carolina to Charles Bryant Fain and Kitty Mae Martin Fain.

She spent her career as a registered nurse in labor and delivery where she touched the lives of thousands of families over her 30 years in nursing. Her absolute greatest joy came from helping new mothers bring life into the world. Elva touched the hearts of everyone she met through her generous and joyful spirit and her love of life and the outdoors.

She will be lovingly remembered by her three sons David Morrison and wife Tamara of Stuart, Virginia and their children Olivia and Paul, Adam Morrison and his wife Brittany of Clemmons, North Carolina and their two boys Bennett and Cole, and Ethan and Jessica Caldwell of Cary, North Carolina and their children Clayton, Kinsley, and Cayden. Elva also leaves behind her step-mother, Barbara Fain, cherished aunts, cousins and three special nieces, Kerry, Alinzabeth and Heather and their families.

Elva was predeceased by her father Charles Bryant Fain, her mother Kitty Goard and her Step Father Edgar Goard, her beloved brother Daryl Fain and his wife Kathy and her granddaughter, Rachel Eden Morrison.

A celebration of life will be held at Minnies Chapel Church on Saturday May the 23rd at 11o’clock with Reverend Gary Combs presiding. The family would like to thank Moodys funeral home of Stuart VA and Salem Funeral & Cremation Services of Winston-Salem for their love and compassion during this most difficult time.
