Elvaleen Turner McAlexander

Mrs. Elvaleen T. McAlexander, age 85 of Meadows of Dan, Virgnia passed away at Heritage Hall Laurel Meadows Nursing home on Wednesday, May 29, 2024.  She was born in Patrick County on February 21, 1939, to the late Ernest Turner and Grace Light Turner.  In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Calvin McAlexander; two sisters, Barbara Anderson and Shirley Boyd; one brother, Otis Turner; one sister-in-law, Kay Turner; and one brother-in-law, Robert Boyd.   Mrs. McAlexander was a member of Reed Island Springs Baptist Church.

Left to cherish the memory of Mrs. McAlexander are one daughter, Rebecca Nester (Bucky); one son, Jason McAlexander (Jennifer); five grandchildren, Jennifer Nester (James), Travis Nester (Natalie); Makenzie McAlexander, Cameron McAlexander, and Elliana McAlexander; great-grandchildren, Landon Boyd, Brooklynn Boyd, and Haven Nester; one sister, Carolyn Lawless (Jr.); one brother, Gary Turner; two sisters-in-law, Judy Gray, Maytrus Self; special friend, Angie Cassell and several nieces and nephews.

The funeral service for Mrs. McAlexander will be held on Saturday, June 1, 2024, at 11:00 a.m. at Reed Island Springs Baptist Church with Pastor Howard Nester and Pastor Roland McGraw officiating.  Burial will follow in the Burnette Family Cemetery.  The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the church on Saturday morning.  In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to a Parkinson’s charity of the donor’s choice.  Moody Funeral Home in Stuart has been entrusted with the arrangements and online condolences may be sent by visiting www.moodyfuneralservices.com.
