Estelle Oakley Hodges

Mrs. Estelle Oakley Hodges Age 81 of 201 Welch Rd. Mt. Airy, NC. widow of Mr. Robert Sidney Hodges passed away Tuesday July 29, 2008 at her home. Mrs. Hodges was born October 28, 1926 in Surry County to the late Roy Oakley and Bethania Angel Oakley Caudle, she was retired from Quality Mills and was of the Baptist Faith. Surviving are two daughters and son-in-law Theresa Vaughn and Jerry Tharpe of Boonville and Jackie and David Jones of Mt. Airy, three sons and daughters-in-law Dennis Hodges and Becky Baldwin of Mt. Airy, Robert S. (Bob) Hodges, Jr of the home and Jimmy and Libby Hodges of Mt. Airy, three grandchildren Brooke, Stevie and B.J. Hodges all of Mt. Airy, one half brother and spouse Jimmy Caudle and wife Sandy of Mt. Airy a niece Beth Caudle McGee of King and two special friends Margie Norman and Ruth Byrd both of Mt. Airy. In addition to her husband and parents Mrs. Hodges was preceded in death by a son Stephen Jimmy Hodges. A graveside service will be held Thursday July 31, 2008 at 2:00 P.M. at Oakdale Cemetery with services conducted by Jason Johnson. There will be no formal visitation at the funeral home. The family would like to give a special thank you to Mountain Valley Hospice and Palliative Care and to the Wake Forest University Baptist Medical Cancer Center for all of their thoughtfulness and care.
