Esther Louise (Stanley) Hopkins

Esther “Louise” Stanley Hopkins, age 75, of Walnut Cove, passed away on Saturday Morning January 6, 2024, at Walnut Cove Health and Rehabilitation.  She was born on August 7, 1948, in Surry County to the late Jobie William Stanley, Sr. and Maggie East Stanley.  Left to cherish her memory are her daughters, Missy Cockerham Flippin, Savanna Cockerham Badgett; son Larry Cockerham; ten grandchildren, several great-grandchildren; three sisters, Barbara Stanley White, Bobbie Jean Stanley Wright, Donna Stanley Cawley; along with several nieces and nephews.  Mrs. Hopkins was preceded in death by a daughter Sandra Cockerham Christoph; a son, Gary Cockerham; and brother, Jobie William “J.W” Stanley, Jr.   A celebration of life will be held at a later date.  The family would like to extend a heartfelt  thank you to the staff of Walnut Cove Health and Rehabilitation Center for the compassion shown to Mrs. Hopkins.  Moody Funeral Service in Mount Airy has been entrusted with the arrangements.
