Esther Bryant Jones

Mrs. Esther Bryant Jones, age 95, of Stuart, Virginia went home to be with her Lord and Savior on Sunday, October 22, 2023, at the Fork Mountain Adult Home in Rocky Mount.  She was born in Patrick County on December 23, 1927, to the late William Arthur Bryant and Ada Brammer Bryant.  In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Hubert Isaac Jones; brother, Chester Columbus Bryant; and two sisters, Elzena Bryant Weinmeister and Zilphia Bryant Bowling.

Mrs. Jones is survived by four children, Wanda Cabler (John) of Greensboro, North Carolina, Carolyn Turner (Johnny) of Bassett, Rita Shively (Bobby) of Martinsville, and Harold Jones (Judy) of Stuart; five grandchildren, Jennifer Daw (Darrin), Beverly Turner (Ramzi Maalouf), Julie Turner (Ross Patterson), Robert Shively (Erin) and Jeremy Jones (Caroline); six great-grandchildren, Analeigh Jones, Maelynn Jones, Camden Shively, Declan Shively, Tenley Shively, and Maddox Shively; several nieces and nephews; and many dear friends.

A graveside service for Mrs. Esther Jones will be held on Thursday, October 26, 2023, at 3:00 p.m. in the Elamsville Church of God of Prophecy Cemetery with Pastor Greg Martin officiating. Mrs. Jones will lie in state at Moody Funeral Home in Stuart on Thursday, October 26, 2023, from 8:00 a.m. until 2:00 p.m.  Flowers will be accepted, or memorial donations may be made to Amedisys Hospice #1734, 5221 Valley Park Drive, Suite 2, Roanoke, Virginia 24019, or to the Elamsville Church of God of Prophecy Cemetery Fund, c/o Harold Jones, 3300 Elamsville Road, Stuart, Virginia 24171.
