Esther Ruth Harris Lowe

Mrs. Esther Ruth Harris Lowe, 84, of Mount Airy, passed away Friday morning, April 11, 2014, at Twelve Oaks Assisted Living Facility. Mrs. Lowe was born September 29, 1929, in Carroll County, VA, to the late George Taylor and Cordelia Maud Nail Harris. Esther retired from Proctor-Silex Inc. and was a member of Salem United Methodist Church. She is survived by a niece, Angela Golding and her husband, Danny, of Mount Airy; a grandson, Jacob Andrew Hall of Mount Airy; a stepdaughter Linda Chaney of Mount Airy; and a special friend, Judy Higgins of Cana, VA. In addition to her parents, Mrs. Lowe was preceded in death by her husband Bill Lowe; a sister, Imogene Jones; and four brothers, Howell Harris, Scott Harris, Kyle Harris, and Carroll Harris. The funeral service will be held Monday, April 14, 2014, at 11:00 AM at Moody Funeral Home Chapel in Mount Airy, with the Rev. Dennis W. "Bud" Cameron and the Rev. Brian Frazier officiating. Burial will follow at Skyline Memory Gardens. The family will receive friends Sunday from 6:00 until 8:00 PM at the funeral home.
