Ethel Irene Dillon

Mrs. Ethel Irene Hudson Dillon, age 88 of Patrick Springs, Virginia passed away on Tuesday, January 8, 2019, at Twelve Oaks Assisted Living Facility in Mount Airy, North Carolina.  She was born in North Carolina on July 14, 1930 to the late William Dan Hudson and Eleanor Hutson Hudson.  In addition to her parents she was preceded in by her husband, Oscar Blenton Dillon; one daughter, Glenda Dillon Kendrick; two sisters, Louise Boyd and Jean Bussey; a brother, W. D. Hudson; and one brother-in-law, Harry Boyd.  Ethel will be remembered as a loving and caring, wife, mom, grandma and great-grandma.

Mrs. Dillon is survived by one daughter, Vanessa Dillon Wade and husband, Karl of Mount Airy, NC; one son-in-law, Buren Kendrick of Bassett, VA; three grandchildren, Andrew Wade and wife, Toni of Greensboro, NC, Matthew Wade and wife, Jessica of Sterling Heights, MI, and Chad Harris and wife, Amanda of Martinsville, VA; two great-grandchildren, Emma Wade and Eben Wade, one brother-in-law, Claude Bussey of Rocky Mount, VA; one sister-in-law, Doris Hudson of Bassett, VA; nieces; and nephews.

Funeral services for Mrs. Dillon will be held on Friday, January 11, 2019, at 2:00 p.m. at Salem United Methodist Church with Pastor John Franklin officiating.  Burial will immediately follow in Blackberry Baptist Church Cemetery.  The family will receive friends two hours prior to the services at the church on Friday afternoon.  In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be to Salem United Methodist Church, 159 Salem Church Road, Patrick Springs, VA, 24133.  Moody Funeral Home in Stuart, VA has been entrusted with the arrangements and online condolences may be sent by visiting www.moodyfuneralservices.com.
