Miss Ethel Magalene Tobler, 80, of 292 Catalina Lane, Mount Airy, passed away Sunday evening, June 19, 2011, at Twelve Oaks Rest Home. Miss Tobler was born November 14, 1930, in Surry County, daughter of the late Vertis Hoston and Eva Elizabeth Smith Tobler. Ethel retired from Brown-Wooten Hosiery Inc. and was a member of the Primitive Baptist faith. She is survived by a sister, Rachel Dianne Tobler of Mount Airy; a brother and two sisters-in-law, Frank and Jeannie Tobler and Betty Jean Tobler, all of Mount Airy; a nephew and his wife, Eddie and Amy Tobler of Lillington; and a great nephew, Preston Wallace Tobler of Lillington. In addition to her parents, Miss Tobler was preceded in death by a sister and brother-in-law, Ruby and Russell Easter; and a brother, Kenneth Edward Tobler. The funeral service will be held Thursday, June 23, 2011, at 2:00 PM at Moody Funeral Home Chapel in Mount Airy, with the Rev. Alton Bledsoe officiating. Burial will follow at Fisher River Primitive Baptist Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends Wednesday from 6:00 until 8:00 PM at the funeral home, and other times at the home of Betty Jean Tobler, 882 Red Brush Road, Mount Airy.
