Eugene Rigney

Mr. Eugene Rigney, 84, of Lexington, passed away Monday, July 14, 2008, at SunBridge Care and Rehab in Lexington. Mr. Rigney was born July 9, 1924, in Carroll County, VA, to the late David Tilmon and Bessie Susan Combs Rigney. He is survived by two sisters, Barbara Jean Felts and Irene Melton; a sister-in-law, Mary Lou Rigney of Mount Airy; and several nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents, Mr. Rigney was preceded in death by his wife, Mary Blanche Rigney; a sister, Pauline Rigney; and two brothers, Rutherford Rigney and Matthew Rigney. The funeral service will be held Wednesday, July 16, 2008, at 3:00 PM at Moody Funeral Home Chapel, conducted by Rev. Tim Burton. Burial will follow in the Rocky Ford Christian Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends Wednesday from 2:00 until 3:00 PM at the funeral home.
