Eunice Marie Butcher Gilley

Mrs. Eunice Marie Butcher Gilley, age 86, of Dobson, NC passed away on Sunday September 3, 2023, at the Joan & Howard Woltz Hospice Home, in Dobson, NC.  She was born in Surry County, on October 2, 1936, to the late Connard Ervin Butcher and the late Flora Hazelwood Butcher. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a son, Joseph Curtis Gilley, sisters, Shirley Tilley, Dorothy Llewellyn; brothers, Larry Woodrow Butcher, Connard Butcher, Jr.  She retired from Tultex and had also worked as a CNA.  Surviving is her husband of over 67 years Joe Curry “JC” Gilley; daughter-in-law, Janet Money Gilley; granddaughter, Julie Rosann Gilley and her husband, Cody Myers; sister, Billie Groce; several nieces and nephews.  A graveside service will be held 11:00 AM Tuesday September 5, 2023, in the cemetery of New Hope Baptist Church.  Rev Trent Lyons will officiate the service.  Flowers will be accepted, or memorials may be made to the National Kidney Foundation, 7413 Six Forks Road #255, Raleigh, NC 27615.  Moody-Davis Funeral Home is serving the Gilley family.  There will be no formal services held at the funeral home.
