Evelyn Lee Wimbish

Mrs. Evelyn Lee Wimbish, age 83 of Stuart, passed away Wednesday, December 10, 2025, at SOVAH Health – Martinsville. She was born in Danville on August 5, 1942, to the late Benjamin Oliver Lee and Eudora “Dora” Whitlow Lee Maxwell. In addition to her parents, Mrs. Wimbish was preceded in death by her husband, James “Duck” Wimbish; and a daughter, Cheryl Wimbish Crowther. She loved beach music. Her greatest love was for her family and friends, especially time spent with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She attended New Life Community Church.

Mrs. Wimbish is survived by a son-in-law, William “Bill” Crowther of Reedville, Virginia; two granddaughters, Carrie Crowther Somers (William) and Katie Crowther Barrack (Nick), all of Reedville, Virginia; two great-grandsons, Owen James Somers and Hinton Eli Barrack; two special cousins, Jeff Taylor and Margaret Dean; and several other cousins and friends.

A memorial service for Mrs. Wimbish will be held Saturday, March 21, 2026 at 11:00 A.M. at New Life Community Fellowship Church with Pastor Wendell Terry officiating. Moody Funeral Home in Stuart is assisting the family, and online condolences may be sent by visiting www.moodyfuneralservices.com.
