Evene Holyfield Nixon

Mrs. Evene Holyfield Nixon, age 94, of Mountain Park, passed away Saturday, September 3,2022, at Dunmore Plantation. She was born February 1, 1928 in Surry County to the late Lonnie Roscoe “Bob” Holyfield and the late Hattie Victoria Draughn Holyfield. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her loving husband, Clifton Nathaniel Nixon; and her brothers, Robert Holyfield and Ray Holyfield.

            Left to cherish her memories are her son and daughter-in-law, Charles Robert and Glenda Nixon; grandchildren, David Randall (Lisa) Nixon and Timothy Nixon; great-grandchildren Michael, Jordan, Mariah, Lydia (Raul) and Michael Jay; great-great-grandchildren, Bentley, Avery, Gryffin and Lucca; nieces, Rebecca (Leroy) Matlock, Barbara Ann Benge. Faye Holyfield Wagoner, Kathy (Floyd) Holyfield Morrison and Jan Holyfield, Elaine Stephens and Karen Nixon Fredrick ; nephews, Larry Ray Holyfield, Bobby Holyfield and  Larry Nixon; and many special great nieces and nephews. Mrs. Nixon was a lifelong and active member of Mountain Park Baptist Church as long as her health permitted.

            Visitation will be Friday, September 9, 2022 from 11:00 AM to 12:00 at Moody-Davis Funeral Services. Services will begin at noon in the Moody-Davis Chapel with Rev. Flake Mason, Rev. David Smith, and Rev. Jon Bowman officiating. Burial will follow in the Mountain Park Cemetery. Moody-Davis Funeral Service in Dobson is serving the Nixon family.
