Fannie Elizabeth Shropshire Ayers

Mrs. Fannie Elizabeth Shropshire Ayers, 83, of Mount Airy, passed away Monday, April 21, 2008, at Northern Hospital of Surry County. Mrs. Ayers was born December 21, 1924, in Carroll County, VA, to Henry and Nancy Ann York Shropshire. Surviving are a daughter and son-in-law, Peggy and Larry Kopp of Mount Airy; a granddaughter, Stephanie Brooks and husband, Billy, of Mount Airy; and three great-grandchildren, Sadie Rose Brooks, Scarlett Brooks, and Sophia Brooks. In addition to her parents, Mrs. Ayers was preceded in death by her husband, Otis Fenton Ayers; and two sisters and brothers-in-law, Rose Ethel and William Haynes and Nell and Carlisle Stantliff. A graveside service will be held at 11:00 AM Thursday, April 24, 2008, at Stantliff Family Cemetery. The family will receive friends at Moody Funeral Home on Thursday from 9:30 until the time to depart for the cemetery.
