Faye Baker Brindle

Mrs. Faye Baker Brindle, age 84, of Dobson, passed away Wednesday, December 3, 2025, at Hugh Chatham Memorial Hospital, surrounded by her loving family. She was born December 12, 1940, in Surry County, to the late Tommie Beauford Baker and the late Martha Wayne Wood Baker. She was married 57 years to the late Rev. Van Brindle and served the Lord with him at Shoals Baptist Church and later Salem Fork Baptist Church. She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother and great grandmother and a cherished member of both church families.

Left to cherish her memories are her daughters, Ginger Brindle Slate and Serena Brindle Nichols and her husband Tony ; her son, Van Christopher Brindle; grandchildren, Christian Slate (Brittany), Hayden Slate, Emma Grace Slate, Landon Nichols, and Luke Nichols; her great grandchild, Asher Lee Slate; sister and brother-in-law, Barbara and Douglas “Peanut” Freeman; brother and sister-in-law, Tommy Wayne “Buster” Baker and Debbie; brother-in-law, Gary Brown; several nieces and nephews; and her Shoals Church Baptist Church family and her Salem Fork Baptist church family. In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by her sister, Brenda Brown.

Visitation will be Monday, December 8, 2025, from 6:00-8:00 PM in the Life Center at Salem Fork Baptist Church. The service will be held on Tuesday December 9. At 2:00 PM in the sanctuary of Salem Fork Baptist Church with Pastor Sean Joplin, Dr. Dan Merritt, and Pastor Nick Poindexter officiating. Burial will follow in the church Cemetery. Flowers will be accepted, or memorials may be made to the Salem Fork Baptist Church Cemetery Fund, 555 Twin Oaks Road, Elkin NC 28621.
