Mr. Floyd Eugene Brannock, 77, of Mount Airy passed away at Chatham Rehab and Nursing on August 28, 2026. He was born on April 5, 1949 in Cana, Virginia to the late Jim and Josie Towe Brannock. Mr. Brannock served as a proud member of the United States Army, achieving the rank of Sargent, and was a brick and stone mason by trade, and his work can be seen all throughout the county. He is survived by his daughter Cynthia Renee Brannock, son and daughter-in-law Bryan Eugene and Amber Brannock, as well as granddaughters Savannah Ashley Brannock and Abbie Marie and Kody Redmond; Grandsons Jacob Jim Brannock, Creed Stanley Willard, and Brodey Chap Willard; great-grandson Kolt James Redmond; sisters Evelyn Dowell, Shirley and Kennith Davis, and Carolyn Edwards. In addition to his parents, Mr. Brannock was preceded in death by his wife, Linda Sue Beck Brannock, and step-daughter Susan Lynette Reynolds. A funeral service will be held at 2:00 PM on Friday, September 4, 2026 at Moody Funeral Home Chapel in Mount Airy. Burial to follow in Skyline Memory Gardens. The family will receive friends on Friday afternoon from 1:00 PM until the time for the service at the funeral home.
