Mr. Floyd Harding Wilson, 95, of Mount Airy, passed away Friday, February 9, 2018, at Surry Community Health and Rehabilitation Center. Mr. Wilson was born January 12, 1923, in Surry County, to the late Moir and Rose Ella Draughn Wilson. He proudly served our country in the United States Army and was a transmission mechanic, retiring from Snow’s Garage in Mount Airy. Left to cherish his memories are two daughters and a son-in-law, Theresa and Johnny Wilcox and Chrystal Brim; four sons and daughters-in-law, Donnie and Susie Wilson, Mike and Theresia Wilson, Steve and Sherry Wilson, and Dennis Wilson; seven grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; and a cousin, Paul Wilson. In addition to his parents, Mr. Wilson was preceded in death by his wife, Eva Haymore Wilson; a daughter, Linda Wilson; and a son, Jimmy Wilson. The funeral service will be held Monday, February 12, 2018, at 11:00 AM at Highland Park Baptist Church, with Dr. Darrell Tate and Robert Holder officiating. Burial will follow at Skyline Memory Gardens, with military honors by the VFW Memorial Honor Guard. The family will receive friends Sunday from 6:00 until 8:00 PM at Highland Park Baptist Church. Flowers will be accepted, or memorial contributions may be made to the Highland Park Baptist Church Children’s Department, 1327 Grove Lane, Mount Airy, NC 27030. Moody Funeral Services in Mount Airy is serving the family.
