Frank Edward Shackelton, Jr

Mr. Frank Edward Shackelton, Jr., 92, of Mount Airy, passed away Sunday, April 10, 2011, at Twelve Oaks. Mr. Shackelton was born December 4, 1918, in Passaic County, NJ, to Frank Edward Shackelton, Sr. and Edna Goble Shackelton. He served our county in the United States Army during World War II in the European Theater. Frank was a retired truck driver and of the Catholic faith. Surviving are two sons, Frank Edward Shackelton, III of Mount Airy and Tom Shackelton of Lebanon, TN; twelve grandchildren; nineteen great-grandchildren; a sister, Bessie Paglario of Paterson, NJ; and a brother, Charles Shackelton of San Bernardino, CA. In addition to his parents, Mr. Shackelton was preceded in death by two daughters, Ellen Burge and Frances Shackelton. A graveside service will be held Thursday, April 14, 2011, at noon in the Veterans Cemetery in Salisbury.
