Mr. Frankie Lee Midkiff, 83 of Mount Airy, passed away Saturday November 15, 2025, at Wake Forest Baptist Medical Center in Winston-Salem. He was born December 1, 1941, in Surry County to the late Frank Doc Midkiff and Ella Mae Goad Midkiff. Mr. Midkiff retired from Parrish Tire after 55 years of dedicated service. He loved NASCAR and the Kansas City Chiefs. He would often say that he loved to go hunting and fishing some, but he loved to work more than anything. Left to cherish his memory are two daughters and sons-in-law, Penny and Billy Hicks, and Susan and Tommy Cline; six grandchildren, Otis Dwayne Johnson and April, Amanda LeAnn Johnson and Thomas Shinault, Montoria Smith and Nick, Emily Johnson and DJ Reynolds, Devin Hicks, and Stephen O’Neill and Sara Caban; four great grandchildren, Jaxton O’Neill, Alice Sue Shinault, Tommy Smith, and Rosie Smith; brother and sister-in-law, James Thomas Midkiff and Tamela; special fur babies, Lupin, Storm, and Flint; and several other family and friends. In addition to his parents, Mr. Midkiff was preceded in death by his wife, Mary Faye Felts Midkiff. Funeral services will be held on Tuesday November 18, 2025, at 11:00am in the Moody Funeral Home Chapel in Mount Airy. Burial will follow in the Midkiff Family Cemetery. The family will receive friends on Monday evening, November 17, 2025, from 6:00 – 8:00pm. Moody Funeral Services in Mount Airy is serving the family.
