Franklin "Britt" Cave

Mr. Franklin “Britt” Cave passed away on November 25 at Mount Airy Dialysis. He was born in Surry County on May 23, 1943, to William “Willie” Cave & Dessie Jennings Cave. He was proceeded in death by two sisters, Frances Cave Freeman and Kerry Ester Cave, three brothers, Herman Cave, Odis Cave, and Clinton Cave, and an infant son, Gary Cave. He is survived by his wife Betty Cave of the home, two daughters and son’s-in-law, Sharon and Dwayne Chandler, and Susan and Donnie Harman, one son and daughter-in-law, Ronald & Kathryn Cave, four grandchildren, Cody Chandler and wife Myriam, Danielle Miller and husband Butch, Nakota Chandler, and Kyndall Harman and wife Madison. He has four great grandchildren, and one on the way.

It’s difficult to sum up a man’s 80 years of life in a few sentences. Britt loved life! He loved his family and friends and would do anything to help others. He was a member of Blues Grove Church. He drove a tractor and trailer for a living and later in life, changed careers and owned and operated a mobile home set up business. He loved bluegrass music. He had a great sense of humor and loved to laugh and cut up. He was someone you could call anytime, night or day and tell him you needed a ride, some money, or help with changing a tire, and he would be there no matter if it was across town, or across the US. He will be greatly missed by anyone lucky enough to have known him.

A funeral service will be held on Thursday, November 30,2023 at 11:00 AM at Blues Grove Baptist Church with services conducted by Rev. Travis Sechrist, and Rev. Sammy Lawon.  Burial will follow in the church cemetery.  The family will receive friends on Wednesday evening from 6-8pm at Moody Funeral Home in Mt. Airy.
