Freeman Cecil Bowman

Mr. Freeman Cecil Bowman, age 93, of Cana, Virginia, passed away peacefully Wednesday night, February 11, 2026, at his residence. Mr. Bowman was born on February 10, 1933, in Carroll County, Virginia, to the late Cecil Bowman and Agnes Webb Bowman. He was longtime farmer, worked in the family construction industry (Freeman Bowman and Son), and was a proud United States Army Veteran. Mr. Bowman was a loving husband, father, grandfather, great grandfather and sibling, who will be deeply missed by all who knew him. Left to cherish his memories are his son and daughter-in-law, Larry Bowman and Karen; grandchildren and great-grandchildren, Brock L. Bowman and Cory (Silas, Deacon, Gatlyn, Camdyn), Blake E. Bowman and Meredith (Fletcher, Lettie Rose, Haven and one on the way), Bronson L. Bowman and Taylor (Banks, Heidi, Shepherd), Brogan L. Bowman and Amy (Brewer); sister, Essie Patton; special friend and care giver, Kim Burnette. In addition to his parents, Mr. Bowman was preceded in death by his loving wife, Frieda Maxine Bowman; daughter, Linda Kay Bowman; sisters, Freda Hill, Adele Beamer. A celebration of Mr. Bowman’s life will be held on Sunday, February 15, 2026, at 3:00 PM at Rocky Ford Christian Church with the Rev. Wendell Horton and Rev. Chris Burnette officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends on Sunday, February 15, 2026, from 1:30 PM until time of the service at the church.
