Garry Riggan Cooke

Mr. Garry Riggan Cooke, 61, of Dobson, passed away Wednesday morning, October 1, 2008, at Wake Forest University Baptist Medical Center in Winston-Salem. He was born in Surry County December 29, 1946, to the late Reely and Myrtle Riggan Cook. He was retired from Wayne Farms in Dobson and a farmer. He was a member of Cross Roads Baptist Church. Gary loved to help his neighbors and work on his farms. Surviving are a brother and sister-in-law, Terry and Wanda Cook of Dobson; a niece and her husband, Tara and Johnny Hazelwood of Dobson; a nephew, Brad Cook of Dobson; a special friend, Diane White of Dobson. Funeral services will be held 11:00 AM Saturday October 4, 2008, in the chapel of Moody-Davis Funeral Home in Dobson, with burial to follow in the Cross Roads Baptist Church Cemetery. The Rev. Jeff Wall will be officiating the services. The family will receive friends at Moody-Davis Funeral Home on Friday evening from 7 until 9. Flowers will be accepted, or memorials may be made to the Cross Roads Baptist Church Building Fund, c/o Rosemary Bledsoe, 690 Cross Roads Church Road, Dobson, NC 27017.
