Gary Tindsley Angel

Mr. Gary Tindsley Angel, 75, of Mt. Airy passed away Sunday, January 1, 2023, at his home.  He was born in Surry County on April 23, 1947, to the late Jess and Linnie Sechrist Angel.  Mr. Angel was a retired painter.  Mr. Angel was a loving father, grandfather, and great grandfather who will be dearly missed.  He is survived by a daughter and son-in-law, Tina and Allen Dixon; a son, Joseph Angel and Bonita Payne; grandchildren, Justin Angel, Ashley Van Dyke and husband, Austin; step grandchild, Stacy Strickland and husband, Phillip; great grandchildren, Trinity Smith, and Autumn Strickland; sisters, Janie Dawson, Violet Spradlin; many nieces and nephews.  In addition to his parents, Mr. Angel was preceded in death by his wife, Brenda Mae Lawyer Angel; a sister and brother-in-law, Beulah and Jack Moore; brother-in-law, Nelson Dawson.  A funeral service will be held Thursday, January 5, 2023, at 2:00 PM at Moody Funeral Home Chapel with Pastor Brian Poindexter officiating.  Burial will follow at New Hope Baptist Church Cemetery.  The family will receive friends Thursday from 12:30 until 2:00 PM at Moody Funeral Home in Mt. Airy.
