Gary Timothy "Tim" Hall

Mr. Gary Timothy “Tim” Hall, age 75, of Mount Airy, passed away Friday morning, May 1, 2026, at the Joan and Howard Woltz Hospice Home. Mr. Hall was born in Surry County, on December 30, 1950, to the late Charles Reid and Hattie Ayers Hall. Tim as known by many was a man of many traits. First and foremost, he loved his wife “Jill”, family meant everything to him, he was a very hard worker, making sure his family was provided for. In his spare time, Tim could be found helping others in their time of need or fishing, which was one of his favorite hobbies. Tim was a proud Vet who served in Germany, he originally started his trucking career driving for H&W Trucking in 1972, later driving entertainer coaches with Cats Entertainment Group, several rock and roll groups, even driving a race hauler for a few years for Richard Childress Racing, later he retired driving for Sowers Construction. Left to cherish his memories are his loving wife of nearly 22 years, Jill Hall; stepsons, Matt Sutphin (Angela), Scott Sutphin; step grandchildren, Taylor Coe, Maison Sutphin, Morgan Sutphin, Lacey Sutphin; brothers and sisters-in-law, Mickey Hall and Betty, Ray Donnell Hall and Tanya; sisters-in-law, Dorothy Hall, Britta Hall; special best friend, David Chaney; brother-in-law, Blake Sutphin and Annette; several nieces and nephews; fur baby, Shaggy. In addition to his parents, Tim was preceded in death by his stepson, Banner Sutphin; sister and brother-in-law, Janice Odell and Mike; brothers, Michael Hall, Charles Hall; brother-in-law, Wayne Sutphin. Per Tim’s request, there will be no formal services held at this time. The family would like to thank everyone for there prayers and support during Tim’s sickness. Moodys of Mount Airy is respectfully serving the Hall family.
