Gary Samuel Watson Sr.

Mr. Gary Samuel Watson Sr., age 73, of Mt. Airy, passed away on Thursday, April 16, 2026 at his home surrounded by his loving family. He was born on October 26, 1952 in Surry County to the late Dewey F. Watson and Inez Pierce Watson Bolt. Mr. Watson proudly served our country in the United States Army from 1972-1975. He was a loving husband, father, and grandfather who will surely be missed by all who knew him. Left to cherish his memory is his wife of 52 years, Pamela Willis Watson; daughter, Heather Watson Burge (Randy); son, Gary Samuel Watson Jr.; grandchildren, Summer Watson, Seth Watson, Wesley Burge; brother, Clyde Watson; sister, Susan DeVoe (Kevin), In addition to his parents Mr. Watson was preceded in death by sisters, Martha Faye Watson Sutts, Jeanie Bolt, and Tracy Bolt; brothers, Bobby Watson, and Rev. Dale Watson. A funeral service will be held on Monday, April 20, 2026 at 2:00 PM at Christ Community Church, 507 Riverside Dr., Mt. Airy, with service conducted by Dr. David J. Brady. Entombment will follow in Skyline Memory Gardens. Military Honors will be provided by VFW Post 2019 of Mt. Airy and Post 9436 of Pilot Mountain. The family will receive friends on Monday from 12:30 PM until the time for the service at the church.
