Gary James "Buck" Wood

Mr. Gary James “Buck” Wood, age 73, of Mount Airy, passed away Tuesday morning April 15, 2025, at Central Continuing Care. Mr. Wood was born August 31, 1951, in Surry County, to the late Columbus Wood and Ethel Adams Wood King. He was an avid cook, working in the restaurant/food industry nearly all his life. He also loved to collect his pop cans as well. Surviving Mr. Wood is his sisters and brothers-in-law, Linda Hawks and Gerald, Donna Ayers and Tony; brother and sister-in-law, Tony Wood and Teresa; aunt, Catherine Morton; several nieces and nephews. Per Mr. Woods’ request, there will not be any formal services held at this time. The family will hold a celebration of life at a later date. Moody’s of Mount Airy is respectfully serving the Wood family.
