Gaye McKeithan

Gaye McKeithan, a beacon of warmth and kindness, passed away on June 17, 2024, in her hometown of Mount Airy, NC. Born to Carl and Ester Wilcox on October 8, 1948, Gaye's life was a tapestry of love, motherhood, and adventure. She grew up the youngest of four siblings. Even as a child, she was bright, full of love, and resilient. Her childhood was filled with the simple joys of country living, which laid the foundation for her nurturing spirit. As a young adult, she pursued her passion for beauty by studying cosmetology. She was blessed with motherhood, welcoming her firstborn, Bryan Thomas, followed by her baby girl, Kim Thomas. When she thought her life was complete, she was gifted opportunity to become a grandmother to Matthew Thomas and Liam Thomas. Gaye was a pillar of strength for our family, always shining bright with a smile on her face, and her big heart opened wide, ready for an embrace. She loved and cared fearlessly for all she knew, and in the wake of her battle with cancer, she hoped to help others. There will be no services for Mrs. McKeithan at this time. The family would like to honor this last request by asking people to spare flowers or other sentiments and donate to her favorite cause, Saint Jude.
