Mr. Gene Bowman, age 60 of Mount Airy, passed away on Saturday, January 17, 2026, at Novant Forsyth Medical Center in Winston-Salem surrounded by his loving family. Mr. Bowman was born on July 1, 1965, in Forsyth County to the late Harold Ray and Louise Hiatt Bowman. Gene was a loving husband, father, grandfather, brother, and friend. He will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved him. Surviving is his wife, Penny Goins Bowman, a son and daughter-in-law, Tommy Lee Bowman and Brittany; five grandchildren, Christopher Bowman, Tommy Lee Bowman, Jr., Brandon Bowman, Jane Bowman, James Bowman; a brother and sister-in-law, Ray Bowman and Annette; sister-in-law, Brenda Bowman; nephew, Adam Bowman; and a special friend Melissa Bowman. In addition to his parents, Mr. Bowman was preceded in death by a son, Brandon Bowman; sister, Jane Bowman; and a brother Jimmy Bowman. No formal services will be held at this time.
