Mr. Gene Randal Paul, 75, of Mount Airy, passed away Sunday evening, June 15, 2025, at Forsyth Medical Center in Winston-Salem. Mr. Paul was born November 30, 1949, in Patrick County to the late Dennis Boyles Paul and Emma Lee Bateman Paul Gallman. He was a volunteer firefighter for the City of Mount Airy for over 23 years. He and his sons had a love and passion for cars and racing, whether it be NASCAR, drag racing or on the dirt track, they always had a good friend at all locations. Left to cherish his memory are his loving wife of 54 years, Janice Sue Dickerson Paul of the home; two sons, Stephen Paul and Scott Paul; five grandchildren, Emma Paul, Addison Paul, Natalie Paul, Kaylie Paul, and Anthony Paul; Aunt and Uncle, Al and Carolyn Bateman; special cousin, David Cook; nieces and a nephew, Evelyn Doerner, Lisa Bondurant, and John David Bondurant; multiple special friends; and his special fur buddy, Koda. In addition to his parents, Mr. Paul was preceded in death by his half-sister, Sheryl Ann Shropshire Bondurant; his stepfather, Walter Leon Gallman; and his buddy, Princess (Boo). Graveside services will be held on Thursday June 19, 2025, at 2:00pm at Oakdale Cemetery. Pastor Richard Loman will be officiating. The family will receive friends on Wednesday June 18, 2025, from 6:00 – 8:00pm at Moody Funeral Home in Mount Airy. Moody Funeral Services in Mount Airy are assisting the Paul family.
