George Goad, Jr

Mr. George Goad, Jr Age 84 of Mt. Airy, NC. passed away Thursday October 23, 2014 at the N.C. Baptist Hospital in Winston Salem. Mr. Goad was born February 7, 1930 in Surry County to the late George Goad, Sr. and Dora Sutphin Goad. Mr. Goad was a veteran of U.S. Army retired farmer and was a member of Community Baptist Church. Surviving are his wife Mary Scott Goad of the home, three daughters and son-in-law Belinda and Donnie Combs, Celia and Gary Dollyhigh and Marisa and Joey Mason all of Mt. Airy, two sons and daughter-in-law Pete Goad and special friend Phyllis Braswell of Murrells Inlet, SC and Wayne and Tonia Goad of Jonesville, ten grandchildren Ashani Hiatt, Sonny and Susie Hiatt all of Mt. Airy, Matt Goad of Mooresville, Dakota Goad of Boone, Houston Goad of Jonesville, Olivia Billings of Mt. Airy, MacKenzie and Walter Gould of Wirtz, VA., Payden Mason of Mt. Airy, Dylan Mason of West Palm Beach, FL. and Autumn Mason of Mt. Airy, seven great grandchildren, one sister and brother-in-law Goldie and Earl Vogler of Pfafftown and by two brothers Ray Goad of Mt. Airy and Glenn Goad of Jonesville. In addition to his parents Mr. Goad was preceded in death by three sisters Ruby Jackson, Evelyn Haley and Virgie Pardue and by three brothers Willie Goad, Ralph Goad and James Goad. Funeral services will be held Saturday October 25, 2014 at 2:00 P.M. at the Moody Funeral Home Chapel in Mt. Airy with services conducted by Rev. Don Ball and Rev. Larry Stone with burial to follow in the Community Baptist Church Cemetery. The family will receive friend from 12:30 PM until time for the funeral at Moody Funeral Home in Mt. Airy, NC.
