George Edward Peeples

Mr. George Edward Peeples, age 63, of Mount Airy, passed away Sunday, August 3, 2025, at Novant Forsyth Medical Center. He was born May 31, 1962, in Charleston County, South Carolina, to the late Ellen Ann “Red” Leftwich Peeples and the late James Jesse Peeples. Mr. Peeples’s worked many years in the shipping department at Hooker Furniture, formally Shenandoah. He was an avid outdoorsman, were his most cherished memory was spending Saturday nights at Bowman Gray Stadium racing with his best friend, Johnny Arnder. Left to cherish his memories are his brothers and sister-in-law, Paul Trent Peeples and Denise, Troy Edmund Peeples; nieces and nephews, Rick Peeples, Mark Peeples, Zack Peeples, Joshua Peeples, Kimberly Peeples, Chelsea Peeples, Jillian Peeples; great nieces and nephews, Payton Peeples, Annalice Peeples, Isabella Peeples, Madison Peeples, Maxton Peeples, Lexie Peeples; aunt, Donna Linebeck and Tony; uncles, Joe Leftwich and Judy, Tommy Leftwich and Phyllis, Sherman Jones. In addition to his parents, Mr. Peeples’s was preceded in death by his infant sister, Tina Peeples; brother, John Andrew Peeples. A celebration of Mr. Peeples’s life will be held Friday, August 8, 2025, at 11:00 AM at Moody Funeral Home in Mount Airy with the Rev. Larry Phillips officiating. A burial will follow at Skyline Memory Gardens. The family will receive friends on Friday, August 8, 2025, from 10:00 AM until time of the service. Flowers will be accepted, or memorial donations may be made to a charity of the donor’s choice. Moodys of Mount Airy is respectfully serving the Peeples’s family.
