Georgie Lee Johnson Shelton

Mrs. Georgie Lee Johnson Shelton, 92, of Dobson, North Carolina, passed away, Wednesday, June 26, 2024. Born May 2, 1932, in Wilkes County to the late Parley and Alma Shepherd Johnson. Mrs. Shelton was a loving mother, grandmother, and great grandmother. Left to cherish her memory is her daughter, Sheila Hayes; son and daughter-in-law, Darion and Michele Shelton; grandchildren, Chris and Jessica Hayes, Candra Chriscoe and Greyson Cox, Caleb and Lacey Shelton, Laurel Atwood, Lacey Atwood, and Lakyn Atwood; great grandchildren, Sadie Hayes, Camden Hayes, Hayden Chriscoe, Harper Chriscoe, Greylynn Cox, Addilyn Shelton, Kyrie Felder, Jenson Harbour, Jacob Harbour, and Amelia Harbour. Along with her parents, Georgie was preceded in death by her loving husband, John Darion “JD” Shelton; and sisters, Kathleen Prevette, Lorene Wyatt, and Jessie Israel. A graveside service will be held Saturday, June 29, 2024, at 11:00 AM at Skyline Memory Gardens with pastor Chris Davis officiating. There will be no formal visitation. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Joan & Howard Woltz Hospice home at P.O. Box 315, Dobson, NC 27017.
