Geraldine Sharon Pike Combs

Mrs. Geraldine Sharon Pike Combs, age 89, of Mt. Airy, passed away on Tuesday ,July 4, 2023, at Central Continuing Care in Mt. Airy.  She was born on August 26, 1933, in Surry County to the late Garfield and Nora Noah Pike.  Mrs. Combs retired from Proctor Silex. Mrs. Combs was a very Godly mother, and devoted Christian who loved the Lord with all her heart.  She loved gardening and canning as long as she was able.  She was a loving mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother who will surely be missed by all who knew her. Left to cherish her memory are her daughter, Sharon Combs, sons, Tim Combs (Rhonda Felts), Aubrey Combs (Brenda); grandchildren, Justin Combs, Amanda Combs, Eli Combs, Abby Combs, Samantha Hicks (James), Chris Rippey (Tracy), Jessica Holdaway (Jason), Jonathan Rippey (Kori Stapleton); twelve great-grandchildren; sisters, Ida Thomas, Debbie Owens; brother, Russel Pike (Hazel).  In addition to her parents, Mrs. Combs was preceded in death by her husband, Johnny Combs; sons, Greg and Barry Combs, brothers, Jonas, and Clifford Pike; sister, Joyce Byrd.  A funeral service will be held on Saturday, July 8, 2023, at 2:00 PM at Moody Funeral Home Chapel in Mt. Airy with service conducted by Pastor Chad Crotts.  Burial will follow in the Fancy Gap Pentecostal Holiness Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 12:30 PM until time for the service at the funeral home.
