Mr. Glen Love White, 76, of 171 Forest Oaks Drive, Dobson, passed away early Monday morning, February 23, 2015, at his home. Mr. White was born August 29, 1938, in Wilson County, the son of the late Emmett and Hannah Hutchins White. Glen was reared in Laurinburg and later earned a Bachelor of Science degree in business administration from Wake Forest University. He worked as the general manager at Wallace Trucking Company in Laurinburg for many years and was a member of Laurinburg First Baptist Church. He is survived by his wife of 44 years, Susan Stockton White of the home; a daughter and son-in-law, Janet and Robert Sutphin of Dobson; two granddaughters, Macy Jo Sutphin and Allie Love Sutphin, both of Dobson; a brother and sister-in-law, William R. "Widgie" and Barbara White of Brevard; several beloved nieces and nephews; and a special cousin, Terry Hutchins. In addition to his parents, Mr. White was preceded in death by an infant sister, Emma Joyce White; and four brothers, Linney Ray White, Jack Hutchins White, Ed Lee White, and Dr. Emmett Royce White. The funeral service will be held Wednesday, February 25, 2015, at 11:00 AM at Moody-Davis Funeral Home Chapel in Dobson, with the Rev. Justin Nelson and the Rev. Mark A. Reece, Jr. officiating. Interment will follow in the Dobson City Cemetery. The family will receive friends Tuesday from 6:00 until 8:00 PM at the funeral home. The family requests that memorial contributions be made to the George and Edna Stockton Scholarship Fund, Surry Community College Foundation, 630 South Main Street, Dobson, NC 27017; or Mountain Valley Hospice and Palliative Care, 401 Technology Lane, Suite 200, Mount Airy, NC 27030. The family wishes to express their gratitude for the love and compassion shown by the staff at Mountain Valley Hospice and Palliative Care.
