Mrs. Glenda Ada Riddle Phillips, age 84, of Lowgap, passed away at her home on Saturday, July 25, 2026, with her loving family by her side. Mrs. Phillips was born in Surry County, on May 2, 1942, to the late William and Elsie Johnson Riddle. Mrs. Phillips worked for Renfro for 14 years before leaving and going to work at Pilot Mountain Elementary School where she worked in the lunchroom for the next 8 years before leaving and going to work for Gentry Middle School where she worked as a custodian for the next 13 years. She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother who will surely be missed by all who knew her. Left to cherish her memory are her husband of 65 years, Paul Edward Phillips; son, Eddie Phillips (Kim); grandchildren, Charlotte, Lauren, and AnaLee Phillips; great-grandchildren, Baker Newman and Brantley France; brother and sister-in-law, Leon Riddle (Lou). In addition to her parents Mrs. Phillips was preceded in death by sister, Mary, Marie,; brothers, Lacey Riddle, Talmon, and Ray Riddle. A funeral service will be held on Thursday, July 30, 2026 at 11:00 AM at Moody Funeral Home Chapel in Mt. Airy with service conducted by Rev. Eddie Phillips and Rev. Bill Faw. Burial will follow in Holly Springs Baptist Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends on Thursday from 10:00 AM until the time for the service at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers donations may be made in honor of Mrs. Phillips to Mountain Valley Hospice and Palliative Care, P.O. Box 325 Dobson, NC 27107.
