Glenna Faye Midkiff

Miss Glenna Faye Midkiff, 78, of Mount Airy, passed away Wednesday night, May 27, 2015, at Northern Hospital of Surry County. Miss Midkiff was born March 18, 1937, in Surry County, one of three children born to the late Glenn Dock and Addie Irene Inman Midkiff. She retired as a licensed practical nurse from Hugh Chatham Nursing Center in Elkin. She is survived by a sister, Delilah Midkiff Heath of Mount Airy; a sister-in-law, Imogene Midkiff of Mount Airy; several nieces and nephews; and a special canine companion, Tiny. In addition to her parents, Miss Midkiff was preceded in death by a brother, Jimmy Nelson Midkiff; a brother-in-law, Dalmer Lee Heath; and a nephew, Timothy Lewis Vernon. A graveside memorial service will be held Saturday, May 30, 2015, at 11:00 AM at Midkiff Cemetery, with the Rev. Brian Frazier officiating. There will be no formal visitation; however, the family may be contacted at the home of Delilah Midkiff Heath, 192 Pipers Gap Road, Mount Airy. Flowers will be accepted, or memorial contributions may be made to the American Red Cross, Surry County Chapter, 844 Westlake Drive, Mount Airy, NC 27030.
